With exploration beginning of the Giant Chasm and Area Zero, the League had setup multiple research stations that could be found in every level of both zones. Placed in one such station was Noel and Aaron, who had the unfortunate task of defending this base from any and all harm while the League's scientists continued on with their work.[break][break]

Inside, Noel would be found perusing through every bit of technology the League had brought over in order to better understand these new locations. None of it made any sense to him but it was fun to see all the flashing colors and listen to the beeps every machine made. Some of the scientists, however, found his presence to be a nuisance as he only got in the way of their work.[break][break]

It wasn't until he stood up straight that he caught Aaron out of the corner of his eye. With a bright smile and an ecstatic look, he goes up to the dark-haired trainer and exclaims "Aaron!" out loud.[break][break]

Some time had passed since the Vital City tournament and he began to wonder if he'd ever see him again. His fight against Aaron with his Gigantamax'd Pikachu taught him well on how to handle Dynamax creatures. He also specifically remembered winning that battle.[break][break]

"It's good to see you! How have you been? Did you get that gift I sent you?"[break][break]

aaron catches a glimpse of Noel Parker out of the corner of his eye and makes a grand gesture of looking busy as the other man approaches. with his arms folded and eyes glued to a nearby monitor, it almost looks like he's actually studying the information on the screen. upon closer inspection, though, his gaze is glazed over with disinterest and he looks like he's not experiencing a single thought. noel keeps trying to talk to him, so he folds. [break][break]"nope," he grumbles, though he smells faintly of calming lavender beneath a more rugged, manly scent that some company slapped onto a deodorant. "must've sent it to some other guy."[break][break]his pikachu gives noel a warmer welcome, chirping in greeting before full-on launching herself at his chest from the desk she's sitting on. He was a bit disappointed to hear that his present didn't arrive to the right person. Whoever he accidentally sent it to would now have a fresh bottle of perfume for free. Oh well, he would just have to buy another and personally deliver to Aaron next time. As soon as they were done with business here, he'd see to that immediately.[break][break]

The Pikachu suddenly juts itself onto Noel's arms, he carefully holds onto the cute electric rat. He was more accustomed to its enormous size but with it being so small in front of him, he couldn't help but pet it on the head and give off a small chuckle.[break][break]

As for Aaron himself, Noel could tell that under that rough exterior was someone who actually cared. Or else why would he pair up with him on this mission?[break][break]

"To be honest I thought I would do much better than I did... When I saw that final tally... I was a bit disappointed in the result... But that just means I gotta do better next time. You did well though yourself! I'm sure this little Pikachu helped you out."[break][break]

He smiles and gives her a few more rubs on the head before turning his gaze back to Aaron with a perplexed look.[break][break]

"But what are you doing here? I didn't figure you for the scientist type. Are you actually interested in all this stuff?"

For a moment Noel was quite puzzled. He assumed Aaron was part of the League like he was but if what he was saying was true, then he was just a mercenary employed by the League. But didn't the League have enough forces of their own to send out? If this was all true, then he'd have to make sure no harm would come to Aaron. The Chasm could be dangerous and he wouldn't dare to let a civilian get hurt.[break][break]

He lets out a chuckle at the question. "Oh no, me neither. I leave all the hard thinking to the people who can actually make sense of all this stuff. Me? I'd rather be out fighting, it's what I do best I think."[break][break]

Taking a step towards the exit, he motions for Aaron to follow him.[break][break]

"Let's head outside for a while. All this technology is making me feel a bit claustrophobic. Plus I want to hear more about what you do. Do you... not have a job at the moment?"[break][break]

Noel couldn't help but smirk at his attitude. Aaron acted like a big kid pretending to be tough but he could tell that he was only messing around. [break][break]

"I didn't figure you for a gym challenge type of person. I'm on the challenge myself but it's a long road away still. I never saw you either at Navy's gym... I've been there multiple times too but I guess we must've missed each other every time. "[break][break]

It was a shame. If he had known then they could've spent more time together. He was sure that the he, Aaron and Navy would get along well together. Although he figured Aaron to be the more free spirited kind. The type to be not bogged down in one spot and instead roaming around for adventure. Perhaps they could have one of their own someday.[break][break]

He takes out his gym badge case and opens it up for Aaron. Inside are two neatly placed pins given to him by Josh Devlin and Navy. It felt like an eternity since those challenges and he would love to do more but he somehow ends up involved in other duties first. [break][break]

"Just the two so far. But I'll be back at it immediately after all this is done. How about you? How many do you have?"[break][break]

Closing the case shut, he places it back in his bag. He had only begun to notice it but suddenly he could feel an intense heat from overhead. Just when did it get so hot? Sweat dripped down from his forehead down to his cheeks and he tries to wipe it away with his sleeve. Yet all that ended up doing was dirtying his clothes, maybe going outside wasn't the best idea after all.[break][break]

Not fully understanding what he meant at the end, he gave Aaron a puzzled look. He thought all PC's were for storing Pokemon. At least every one that he interacted with was solely for that purpose. Maybe he could show him what kind of games there were to play out there someday.[break][break]

"Hey how about we head back inside? I didn't think it'd be this hot and it's starting to kill me... I'll treat you to a drink on the house."[break][break]

With one of his hands he pats the other man on the shoulder with his wet hand which leaves a bit of a stain. Noel doesn't notice this however and simply walks back inside where he would await his companion for a cold beverage.
